little fires here and there

It's been quite the crazy morning today. I was putting out fires, or doing my part to put out fires IT needed to work on, pretty much all morning. There's no sense in getting into the weeds about it here, nobody cares. Unless they work at PCC.

It's prevented me from working on just about anything else, though. Which is pretty annoying.

Anyway! I have little to report on last night. For dinner we made a sample marinated tofu dish sample I had brought home from work a couple of weeks ago, and also had the last of the salad made for dinner the previous night. All delicious. Yay delicious dinners!

We binged a bunch of episodes of The Pitt on HBO Max. We ran through four episodes, I think. Then we watched the pilot episode of Midcentury Modern on Hulu, which is far from high quality, is very much a standard single-camera sitcom with a laugh track, and still made us both laugh a lot. And what more do you want, really? We also watched this week's episode of Abbott Elementary, which is high-quality—and still funny. A better combination, but Midcentury Modern has its overt gayness going for it. It's like Golden Girls meets Will & Grace, except not as good as either one. It's not fair to judge only by the pilot, but I can pretty much see where it will go from here.

In Couples Therapy news, I finally have it confirmed through Aetna that the two agents were indeed correct: they cover 100%, minus a $20 copay per session. I had put sessions on hold until we got this sorted out, which meant no session this week—I canceled the one we had initially scheduled for Monday this week. Then, as of yesterday, Shobhit discovered he had too much going on Monday next week. I made an appointment for Thursday. Then Shobhit remembered he had a meeting, so I had to cancel that, and now we're scheduled to return on Monday April 4. We'll have gone two weeks and then skipped two weeks by then.

As for the $140 that I paid for the first visit in error, my billing balance is now a credit for $100. The $40 difference accounts for the $20 copay that would have been for the two sessions already had. I just got them on the phone to clarify this, and decided to leave the $100 credit there and use that for presumably five visits to go.

I just had my biweekly Zoom lunch with Karen. It consisted of updates about their new house and property up in Tulalip, which is finally coming together nicely; my own travel plans both through this year and long-term through 2026 and hopefully even 2027; and even some of her travel plans. There was other stuff too. But! Firest continue at work and I need to get back to trying to figure out where I can find a hose.
